My internet is not working. How do I fix this?

There are a lot of possibilities of why your internet is not working. The following is a list of some of the troubleshooting that you can do to determine what the problem is, starting with the most obvious:

  • Check the power supplies for both the modem and the transceiver. The transceiver power supply is the one with the coax cable coming out of it.
  • Check the cables, and make sure that all connections are tight between the different pieces of equipment that you have.
  • Make sure that the "stand-by" switch on the modem is on, and not in the stand by position.
  • If you still do not have internet at this point, cycle the power on your modem (off for 5 or more seconds, and then back on again). This has to be done by pulling the power plug from the back of the modem. Watch to make sure that the lights stabilize with 4 lights on.
  • If you have a router, or other gateway device between your computer and the modem, cycle the power on it next. You will have to reboot your computer after this so that it talks to your router again after cycling the power on the router.
  • If you are still unable to connect to the internet, call Bogend Technical Support at 1-866-341-9883.

This email is from Bogend's email server telling you that it deleted an email that was sent to you, that contained a virus. If you recognize the 'from' part of the message, you should contact that person, and let them know that they have a virus on their computer. If you want to find out what else was in that email, you can contact Bogend Technical Support and they will forward you the email, after removing the virus. These emails are saved on the server for one week.

How can I test my speed on the internet?

There are a lot of sites where you can test your internet speed. But beware of the results. The speed that is reported to you is the speed of the slowest link between you and the test site that you have chosen. And some sites like to alter the results to try and get you to switch to their internet service.

Bogend has a speed test facility at each of its towers. If you test your speed to the tower that you are connected to, you will know how fast your internet connection is working. Here is a list of the towers:

After determining your speed inside of the Bogend System, you should check your speed to the main internet backbone. The speed test site for Bogend's internet supplier is here
